Camp Kindergarten

Summer 2012

Camp  Kindergarten will provide children who are entering or just completing kindergarten an opportunity to develop and strengthen their social, vocabulary, pre-reading and listening skills.  Camp will begin with an introduction of the theme and book of the week during a 15 minute circle time.  Campers will then break into small groups and rotate to stations every 20 minutes to target specific skill sets.  The three stations will target: pre-reading and phonological awareness skills, vocabulary enrichment and  storytelling skills, and math skills.   Parents will receive suggestions weekly regarding activities to carryover at home throughout the week in order to strengthen what has been taught at camp.   After this “mini-course” in Kindergarten, your child will have a head start and be more confident on their academic journey.
