Fall 2008 Reading Program

Children K-3rd
This camp is an intensive reading program which is conducted by certified teachers and Master’s level Speech Language Pathologists. The camp targets reading fluency, reading comprehension, decoding skills and phonological awareness skills which are essential components for reading success. Research says that if a child is a struggling reader following the fourth grade, he may always have some difficulty with reading skills. This camp will focus on improving reading and comprehension skills for children in kindergarten through third grade using thematic units and familiar texts. Camp Information: There will be one fall session of Camp Read which will be held on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays. Children can attend one or both days. We will also have a spring session as well. Children who attend the fall session of Camp Read can attend the spring session which will build upon the skills develped during the fall camp. There will be no more than three children per clinician.
Enrollment begins August 15th.
