Camp Write
Fall 2010
Handwriting is a critical skill that children must develop in order for them to be successful in an academic environment. Ensure your child has developed this skill by enrolling them in "Camp Write" at Therapy Group of Waco. Camp Write is an eight week program that utilizes multisensory lessons to teach children the basic skills needed for handwriting success. Camp Write will use the Handwriting Without Tears program which was developed by occupational therapist, Jan Olsen. The goal of Handwriting Without Tears is to “make handwriting an automatic and natural skill for children of all ability levels.” During camp, we will use a variety of materials and modalities to eliminate problems with word and sentence spacing, letter formation, reversals, and legibility. Following Camp Write, your child will have an intervention workbook that can be taken home so your child can continue practicing the new skills developed during camp. Follow-up camps will be offered throughout the year.
